Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that can sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific body areas leaving a more defined and aesthetically pleasing shape. Liposuction is often combined with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) which removes the excess skin and tissue for a complete body sculpting procedure. The treatment can be performed on many areas of the body: buttocks, hips, thighs, abdomen, breasts, upper arms, chin and knees. Prior to surgery, our surgeon will assess your overall health, skin quality and the amount of fat to be removed before explaining in detail the approach that will be used.

Various types of anaesthesia are used during liposuction, if only small areas of fat are to be removed a local anaesthetic will be sufficient although more extensive surgery will require a general anaesthetic. The length of your liposuction procedure will depend on the amount of fat being removed.

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure

Dr. Bugra will make a small incision in the skin and using a thin, hollow tube he will break up the fat cells beneath the skin surface and remove them with a special suction or vacuum. Several incisions may be required for larger areas and any incisions will be stitched at the end of the procedure.

Recuperation

Depending on the extent of your surgery, you may be able to return to your hotel on the same day as your procedure. You will need pain relief medication once the anaesthesic wears off and you may need to wear an elastic support garment for two to six weeks after surgery. You will need to stay abroad for a minimum of three days and what better way to recuperate than at a luxury hotel in sunny Cyprus or cosmopolitan Istanbul in Turkey?
Our surgeon will advise you when to gradually introduce your daily/weekly activities and exercise routines.
