Breast Augmentation Surgery

Many ladies feel less of a woman if their breasts are small, asymmetrical or have lost their fullness. Trying to push aside thoughts of breast implants and choosing to endure emotional torture because their social circles may find it unacceptable to opt for cosmetic surgery to fix something that they don’t see as a problem.

However, only YOU get to choose how you want to live your life and only YOU know what makes you feel happy. It’s not about sculpting the perfect body as others see it, it’s about feeling good with how you look. And, if you ask us, you have every right to be able to get exactly what you wish for in life.

What is breast augmentation surgery ?

Breast augmentation surgery is a top cosmetic surgery performed today with hundreds of thousands of women having had the surgery in 2015 alone. It involves using breast implants to restore breast volume that has been lost after pregnancy or weight loss, or to increase the size of small breasts. As a result, the figure is more balanced, the projection and fullness of the breasts increased, and self-confidence and self-image restored. That aside, breast augmentation can also be used after injury or mastectomy, for breast reconstruction.

Are you a good candidate for breast augmentation surgery ?

First and foremost, we can’t stress enough the importance of you proceeding with cosmetic surgery for yourself and not for someone else.
Having said that, you may be an excellent candidate for breast implants if you:

  •  Are physically healthy.
  •  Feel self-conscious about the size of your breasts.
  •  Have realistic expectations.
  •  Are unhappy with the loss of volume and shape of your breasts after weight loss, pregnancy or just with ageing.
  •  Are dissatisfied with the symmetry of your breasts, asymmetry is a common reason for implant surgery.
  •  Have fully developed breasts, age 18 and above.

Can Breast Augmentation Correct Sagging ?

Breast augmentation alone may not be enough to correct severely drooping breasts, although the use of anatomical shaped implants can go a long way to compensate for sag. In these cases, we give the option of a breast lift, either alone or in conjunction with breast implants, to have both fuller and lifted breasts.

Recovery after breast augmentation

As with every surgery involving a general anaesthetic, you will remain in hospital over night so that you are closely monitored for the first 24 hours. Dr Bugra will have placed an elastic bandaging around your breasts to aid the healing process, which will remain in place for 5 to 6 days until you are transferred in to your sports bra/post operative bra.

You will be discharged from hospital the following morning with any pain killing medication you may require. It is critical to follow all Dr Bugra’s aftercare instructions carefully and to see him for follow up check ups before you return to your home country.

You are mobile from day one after a breast procedure, expect some swelling and soreness, although every patient reacts differently and has a different pain threshold. Gradually you can return to your normal daily activities, with gentle walking exercise initially building up as you feel less tired and confident. Lifting heavy weights should be avoided for 4 weeks and strenuous exercise should be avoided for 6 weeks.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation

I) Boost Self-Esteem

Studies have shown that breast augmentation can help increase self-esteem, and confidence in your body image. Below are some of the most common cases where women can benefit from breast augmentation.

Micromastia

At Cosmetic Surgery Cyprus, we have helped women, old and young, whose breasts have just never developed (micromastia) and given them the breasts that they have always dreamed of.

Asymmetry

We address asymmetrical breasts where the breasts do not match in shape or size, it is actually more common than patients realise. Even half a cup size difference can be quite noticeable. We help these patients to achieve ‘matching breasts’ so they can look in the mirror and be proud. They can then wear their bathing suits without feeling self conscious.

After a pregnancy (or pregnancies)and breast feeding

Many women see their body bounce back after one or more pregnancies, which is great. Unfortunately, many mothers also notice that their breast tissue has changed, leaving them with breasts that are empty and sagging.

At Cosmetic Surgery Cyprus breast augmentation and/ or breast lift can allow mums to regain their youthful breasts and feel good about themselves again. Dr Bugra will deliver exactly what the patient desires so whether that is a natural size in keeping with their body profile or if they want to ‘go bigger’ we will deliver what the patient desires. We also ensure that there is zero loss of sensitivity too.

After mastectomy

Breast reconstruction is a valuable option for women that have had a mastectomy. With the new methods of tissue support and various types of breast reconstruction, we can now give all women their femininity back. The procedure involves the insertion of implants as in the case of breast augmentation, although there are also other options. Dr Bugra will decide which method best suits you.

II) Healthier lifestyle

The preparation for breast implant/lift cosmetic surgery is for many women a great incentive to a healthier lifestyle. Before the surgery, if you are a smoker you are asked to stop smoking or at least cut down as much as possible. Smoking inhibits the flow of oxygen around the body thus slowing the rate at which you heal. You must also abstain from alcohol for 3 days before surgery and for 5 to 7 days after. So, it’s a big encouragement to focus on becoming a healthier person.

At the end of the day, it’s all about you and how you feel about yourself. At Cosmetic Surgery Cyprus we can help you to put an end to those days when you shy away from mirrors, hide behind padded bras and clothes that camouflage your figure. We can help you to feel great about your body again!
