A thread lift is the latest procedure gaining popularity across the world and the thread lift is rapidly becoming known as a way to achieve a ‘non-surgical facelift’. Gwyneth Paltrow kicked off the trend in 2015 when she endorsed the procedure and recently Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York revealed she has also had a thread lift herself.
We are very proud to offer the thread lift here at Cosmetic Surgery Cyprus and think it is the ideal solution for our patients between the ages of 25 and 65 years old, who are looking for a more defined face and neck and rejuvenated appearance without the discomfort and recovery time of a full facelift. Many of our patients are now choosing a thread lift rather than Botox or fat injections as the result is significantly longer lasting.
During a thread lift, the threads are used to add volume to the skin and tighten the area leading to less wrinkles and sagging skin and an overall younger appearance. The threads themselves are inserted under the skin using a needle. They are composed of a bio-absorbable material which is durable but will slowly dissolve over time. After a thread lift, collagen and fibrous tissue will form around the threads and will create a further tightening of the skin tissue as time progresses. Generally, the results of your thread lift will last for around one to two years but we have also seen patients with improvement for much longer than this.
A thread lift is particularly useful as it can be specifically tailored to each patient. For example, each area of the face can either be treated with a thread lift individually or in combination. Areas which can be treated include the cheeks, naso-labial area, outer or inner brow, eye area, jaw line, neck and chin.
The thread lift procedure itself is minimally invasive and can therefore be completed under local anaesthetic so patients will feel no pain during the procedure and there is no need for an overnight stay in hospital. The thread lift is very quick and painless with absolutely no scarring and the procedure will be completed within an hour.
There are minimal side effects with this procedure, with patients only occasionally experiencing minimal bruising or swelling for the initial few days after the thread lift procedure. Patients will be able to return to their work after two days or after a week if your job is particularly strenuous.
A thread lift is the perfect solution if you are looking to help reduce the signs of ageing, in a quick, easy and low cost way. If you have minor sagging and wrinkles in the face or neck region, then a thread lift can offer you an alternative to surgery and give a toned, tightened and lifted result.
